How to Make Room for Your Pet in Your Bedroom

    by Waverly Wilde

    Fun for the Whole Family

Whether your pet wants to be near you, next to you, or on top of you, creating space just for them is a wonderful way to bond. While this post is about the bedroom, there’s no reason you cannot do the same in other areas of your home.

    Choose Natural Light

Select a space in the bedroom that’s near a window. It’s no secret that cats, dogs -- or honeybadgers -- enjoy the outside world. The window provides them with both natural light and a way to see any activity happening outside.

    Choose a Safe Space

While the bedroom is not typically a hub for unsafe items, anything your pet can easily knock over, tangle, chew, or get hurt by should be stored away, and kept nowhere near their space.

    Choose the Right Bed

You probably know the types of things your pet loves to sleep on, so choose a pet bed that is similar. This makes the space welcoming and comfortable for them.

    Feeding Your Pet

Your bedroom may not be where you typically feed your pet, but it’s a good idea to at least keep some water in their new space. Maybe some food too. A pet food puzzle keeps them active while eating.

Just as your home is a comfortable, safe space for you and your family, your pet wants the same.
